About Our School

In the 2025–2026 school year, our mission statement was developed by the faculty of Hermann-Gmeiner Catholic Elementary School, presented to the parent-teacher association, and adopted by the school board. At the beginning of that same school year, it was introduced together with the students and integrated into the school’s daily routine.

The mission statement serves as a shared foundation for everyone involved in our school:

our students,
their parents and families, as well as
the entire teaching staff.

We view the diversity of our students as an enrichment, a challenge, and a social mission for democratic coexistence. Our school has set itself the goal of valuing, fostering, and developing individual strengths, abilities, and talents.

Our class is cheerful, lively, and always up for some fun. Together with Ari, our class mascot, and our homeroom teacher, Ms. Wegner, we’ve already learned a lot, laughed, played, and been active!
We haven’t known each other for very long, but we’ve become a great team. We love helping each other because that’s what makes school the most fun for all of us! Together, we’ve already shared many wonderful moments and are looking forward to everything that lies ahead in the coming years!

The Fox Class
Welcome to our Fox Class!

The Fox Class
Our homeroom teacher is Ms. Müller-Kemmerling. Our class mascots are two foxes named Frieda and Freddy, who are dearly loved by everyone. They’re with us all day long as we read, write, and do math, fool around, and sometimes even work out our differences. Shh!
Sometimes they even give us some tips. We’ve already learned so much! On the weekends, we also like to write about our adventures with Frieda and Freddy in our weekend journal. We put a lot of effort into these entries, adding lots of drawings and photos.

Together with our class mascots, Emil and Elli, we’re exploring the world with curiosity. We learn independently, help one another, and enjoy reading, writing, and math. What’s especially important to us is a wonderful and supportive class community where we look out for and help one another.

Our homeroom teacher is Ms. Monyer-Eltges.
Let us introduce our class mascot: This is Maya or Enno-Junior (it’s hard to tell the two apart). She is the daughter of Enno and Emma the polar bear. We are a big polar bear family. For the children of 3a, we are learning companions, sources of comfort, and so much more. We greet each other with a smile every morning and even accompany the children on great field trips and exciting adventures. We also always celebrate wonderful holidays like St. Martin’s Day or birthdays in class.

Our homeroom teacher is Ms. Ehlert.
Let us introduce our class mascot: This is Otto—a cheerful, curious octopus. Every day, he learns, laughs, and plays with the children in the classroom. Of course, he comes along on field trips, too. Most of all, he looks forward to spending the weekends at the children’s homes, because that’s when he goes on amazing adventures.
The Koala Class
This is us, Class 4b.
The Koala Class
Our homeroom teacher is Ms. Sierra Fernandez. Kiko is a koala and our class mascot. He’s been with us for 3.5 school years now. We don’t just learn at our desks, but also in the reading corner, on the floor, in the hallway, or on our benches. We enjoy researching and love experimenting in science class. Recently, for example, we built electrical circuits and worked well together in small teams. This is now our last year of elementary school before we move on to new paths in the summer.
The Sloth Class
We may be called the Sloth Class, but we’re still fast.
The Sloth Class
We are the Sloths. Even though we’re called the Sloth Class, we’re actually pretty fast. A lot of people think we’re lazy, but we’re usually very hardworking.
We’re also a really funny and friendly class. We help each other, and during breaks we make sure no one is left alone.
